Spring is slow to come here in Bern, but it’s coming! Last week there were a few Iris and yesterday I discovered this lone crocus!

And here’s a tulip-in-waiting. Should I be worried about the dry leaf tips, or is that normal?

Because spring is so slow outdoors, I went and bought spring flowers two weeks ago. Some of them already flowered, and others, like these hyacinths, are only just beginning. The perfume is lovely but almost overwhelming!

And because they announced frosty nights for the next two days, I took the spring flowers indoor overnight. I hope they appreciate the plant light that I am using for my chilis!

Speaking of frosty nights, my blueberry on the balcony seems to enjoy the cold. Such pretty little buds! So far it has produced maybe a dozen berries every year. I gave it a bigger pot and fresh „Moorbeet-Erde“ a few weeks ago and I really hope it’ll be a bit more productive this year.

And I thought I should post the place where I store some of my seeds. I found this pretty commode in a little secondhand shop close to my apartment. It’s in really good shape and the indoor plants look good on it too! Only the plastic covering is a bit ugly; but it works and protects the commode from water damage.

Six on Saturday is a meme maintained by garden ruminations. Today’s post is here: Six on Saturday – 25/2/2023.
Now that is a seed store to be proud of, and it also doubles as a stand for your house plants, it was indeed a good find.
Thanks :-). Yes, it’s a lovely little piece of furniture! I think it would be useful to also organize the seeds by months, but I haven’t found a nice way of doing that yet.
I have some blueberry plants that I am hoping survived the winter.
I was actually a bit surprised after the first winter; I fully expected the plant to die. But it’s a really tough blueberry and I suppose the warmth seeping out of our badly insulated walls also helped a bit.
I love your seed storage, so elegant! The signs of spring are definitely there, it won’t be long, and I can’t wait. Enjoy your week.
Yes, I like that little commode a lot! I have second one that is a bit smaller and also stuffed with seed packages.
I really hope spring comes soon! Have a nice weekend!
